One January winters eve, Ben and I sat down to sketch some new table designs. After Ben made some various sketches, I took the paper and pencil from him and drew our Sun Ray table design – I believe it is a symbol of the sunny days to come (December and January have been very cloudy here). We loved it, so we made it.
This table is made with reclaimed metal. We made the base by hand hammering flat metal into shape and welding it together. It is painted with red milk paint. We make the top with a new piece of US made 11 gauge steel.
Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. If outdoors, you can maintain a shiny metal look [entirely optional] by applying a clear metal enamel, available in a spray can at your local hardware store.

This piece was handmade by Ben Gatski in Pennsylvania. The metal we used is from weathered steel. We hand draw the pattern on the metal with soapstone and cut it with a hand held plasma cutter. We then hand hammer and weld it into shape. The blue was hand painted with milk paint. The metal is sealed with a water-based enamel. Each man will have subtle variations. They are cut by hand and each piece of metal has slight color differences. Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. If outdoors, you can maintain a shiny metal look [entirely optional] by applying a clear metal enamel, available in a spray can at your local hardware store.
This statement console is an homage to an asana (a yoga posture). This loose representation was inspired by the inner peace found within simple movements. This table is handmade in rural Pennsylvania with reclaimed metal. The pattern is drawn on the metal with soapstone, cut with a hand-held plasma cutter, hand-shaped and arc welded together. Each piece will have its own subtle differences; they are cut, hammered, and built by hand.
This piece features a reclaimed barn wood top that is in its primitive state. Minimal finishing to the wood to preserve its natural, aged character.
The color is hand-painted with milk paint, giving the piece a naturally uneven and textured finish. A clear finish is applied to the entire piece.
Each Gatski is a blend of imperfect materials and capable hands.
We made this side table from reclaimed steel and reclaimed barn wood. It is handmade by us here in our rural studio in Pennsylvania. We hand cut and welded each piece of steel together. We created the base of the shelf from a wooden plank rescued from an old barn. The sides of the table are hand-painted with milk paint. Each piece will have subtle variations. They are cut by hand and each piece of metal has slight color differences. The metal is sealed with a water-based enamel. Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
