Happy Fall!

Happy Fall!
October 31, 2023 Kate Gatski

Hi dear friends,

I hope all is well with you!  I am thankful to have the chance to share with you again! I found some space for positive reflection, and some moments to share what’s been happening!

Here’s a little summer recap:

June: This fine month started off with our oldest graduating from High School. Yay! Congratulations I!  He graduated a year early, so planning for life after high school came at warp speed. After much deliberation, he chose to enroll at Lehigh University for Mechanical Engineering and opted to do their Lehigh Launch: American West program for the first semester (spoiler alert, he’s in Wyoming!).

As is our June tradition, we were able to spend a few days in Ocean City, New Jersey with my mom. It is a delightful way to kick off the summer, with lots of beach walking and ice cream!

In the shop, we were fortunate to have quite a few console tables to make. Ben was busy working on those Artful Home orders that came in, thanks to a promotion they had offered. We also managed to create some awards for a Mountain Bike race. And, we made and donated metal track and field figures for the Danville Track and Field coaching staff.

July:  As it goes, we are often catching up in July after a very busy late spring season. We were able to finish a few local orders – mailboxes that were patiently waiting for few final touches and a firepit for lovely neighbors. We also decided we needed to do some much-needed updates to our Etsy shop. We created a batch of pieces solely for the purpose of taking additional photographs and shooting short videos of these pieces.

The kids and I were fortunate to travel with Ben’s mom to Vancouver. We spent several wonderful days walking and biking the city. There are paths everywhere! Then, we traveled to Whistler so the kids could spend a couple days mountain biking. It was incredibly beautiful and memorable adventure. Thank you Jean!

August: We returned back to a bit of sports transportation in August, as practices began. And, we saw our oldest off at the airport for his first semester of college. Whew!

We were fortunate to receive a couple gallery orders. Thank you Artisans Gallery and Art@830! They kept us busy along with continued work to renovate our Etsy shop.

It’s taking me too long to realize this – but one month is not enough time. Our efforts really go in seasons of 3-4 months. Since it is just Ben and I, we need many weeks to accomplish a notable project.

So, that brings us to September. We are shipping a coffee table out for Artful Home to include in a photo shoot. We are going to make a couple Moose in the Woods because that was deemed an #EtsyPick (thank you Etsy).
